WTIC radio did a special evening broadcast from the Springfield Museum of Science where Assistant Curator Richard Hoagland had assembled several well known scientists to discuss Mariner 5’s Fly-by of Venus on October 19th.  The program was titled “Space – the First Decade”. Richard Hoagland, who appeared many times on WTIC in the 1960s, and who was featured with Dick Bertel on “The Night of the Encounter”, the first fly-by of Mars in 1965, interviews prominent scientists about the all but impenetrable atmosphere of Venus.
