On Monday August 31, 2009 at 7 PM radio-TV veteran Bill Hennessey, former Channel 30 news anchor and
WTIC staffer talked about his recollections of the “Golden Years of Radio” in the Great Room
of the Paradise Pizza Restaurant, 10 East Street, New Britain. The public and broadcast people
came to add their "two cents". Emcee was TV personality Steve Parker.
Bill Hennessey, formerly the “Ambassador of the CT Lottery”, is more recently known
as the “Voice of the Crowley Auto Group”. He spoke of the year when Ben Hawthorne, Bob Steele,
Bob Ellsworth, Sereno Gammell, Joe Girand, Ivor Hugh, Dick Bertel, Arnold Dean, Mitch Betters, Una King,
Charlie Parker and other talented stars shone brightly on CT's TV and radio airways.
The audience was invited to add their "two cents "and ask questions.
